Clay Lubricant & Clay Bar Detailing Kit

Give your vehicle’s paintwork a smoother, cleaner finish with our Clay Lubricant & Clay Bar Detailing Kit. Each kit combines 250ml of scented clay lubricant with a 100g detailing clay bar, supplied in a protective storage tin.

The clay bar helps remove bonded surface contaminants that regular washing may leave behind, while the clay lubricant provides the necessary lubrication to help the clay glide smoothly over the paintwork.

Choose from four clay bar grades and scented lubricant combinations, allowing you to select the option best suited to your detailing needs.

Choose Your Combination

Our Clay Lubricant & Clay Bar Detailing Kit is designed to help remove bonded surface contaminants that normal washing may not remove, leaving your vehicle’s paintwork feeling noticeably smoother and cleaner.

Each kit contains 250ml of scented clay lubricant and a 100g detailing clay bar, supplied in a protective storage tin to help keep the clay clean and ready for future use.

Choose from four different clay grades, each paired with a distinctive scented lubricant:

  • Super Fine Orange Clay – Orange scented lubricant
  • Fine Pink Clay – Cherry scented lubricant
  • Medium Yellow Clay – Lemon scented lubricant
  • Heavy Mauve Clay – Grape scented lubricant

The different grades allow you to choose the level of clay suited to the condition of your vehicle's paintwork and the level of contamination present.

.

Not sure which clay bar to choose? Our four grades make it easy to select the right option for your vehicle.

Super Fine – Orange Clay

Orange Scent

Our gentlest option, designed for light contamination and regular paintwork maintenance. A good choice when you want to clay your vehicle while taking a gentle approach.

Fine – Pink Clay

Cherry Scent

A versatile, all-round clay grade suitable for general decontamination. Ideal for removing everyday bonded contaminants from painted surfaces.

Medium – Yellow Clay

Lemon Scent

A stronger grade for vehicles with a greater level of bonded contamination. Suitable when a fine-grade clay isn't quite enough to achieve the desired result.

Heavy – Mauve Clay

Grape Scent

Our most aggressive grade, designed for more stubborn and heavier bonded contamination. Best suited to vehicles requiring a more intensive decontamination process.

Which One Should I Choose?

For regular maintenance, start with the Super Fine or Fine grade. If the paintwork has more noticeable or stubborn contamination, consider the Medium or Heavy grade.

When in doubt, it is always best to start with the least aggressive grade that is likely to achieve the desired result.

For the best results, always use the clay bar with plenty of clay lubricant and work on a clean, cool surface.

Step 1 – Wash the Vehicle

Thoroughly wash and rinse the vehicle to remove loose dirt and grime. The clay bar should not be used as a substitute for washing.

Step 2 – Prepare the Clay

Take a small piece of the clay bar and knead it until it becomes soft and pliable. Flatten it into a suitable working shape.

Step 3 – Lubricate

Generously spray the 250ml clay lubricant over a small section of the paintwork. Make sure the surface remains well lubricated throughout the process.

Step 4 – Clay the Surface

Gently glide the clay bar over the lubricated surface using light pressure. Allow the clay to pick up bonded contaminants rather than applying excessive pressure.

Step 5 – Check the Surface

Continue working the area until the clay glides smoothly and the paintwork feels clean and smooth to the touch.

Step 6 – Wipe Clean

Use a clean microfibre cloth to remove any remaining lubricant or residue.

Step 7 – Repeat

Work around the vehicle section by section, keeping each area well lubricated.

After Use

Knead the clay to expose a clean surface, then place it back into the supplied protective tin for storage.

Important: Never use the clay bar dry. Always use sufficient lubricant to prevent the clay from sticking or dragging across the surface.

Follow these simple tips to get the best performance and longest life from your clay bar.

Use Plenty of Lubricant

Keep the surface generously lubricated while claying. If the surface begins to feel dry, stop and apply more lubricant.

Work in Small Sections

Working on small areas makes it easier to control the clay and ensures thorough coverage.

Use Light Pressure

Allow the clay bar to do the work. Gentle pressure is normally sufficient to lift bonded contaminants from the surface.

Don't Drop the Clay

Avoid dropping the clay bar onto the ground or other dirty surfaces. Clay can pick up grit and debris which may cause scratching when reused.

Fold & Knead

As the clay becomes contaminated, fold and knead it to expose a clean surface. Continue until the clay is heavily contaminated or no longer suitable for use.

Keep Your Vehicle Cool

For best results, work on a cool surface and avoid using the product in direct sunlight where possible.

Store Safely

After use, return the clay bar to its protective storage tin to help keep it clean and ready for your next detail.

After Claying

Once the paintwork has been decontaminated, the vehicle can be dried and further detailing steps such as polishing or paint protection can be carried out as required.
